Job summary

Franciscan Health is seeking a Coder IV Specialist to review electronic medical record documentation and apply ICD and CPT codes for professional major surgical services. This role focuses on data abstraction for billing and analysis.

You will review hospitalist rounds and office visits, evaluate codes and modifiers, and ensure coding accuracy and productivity while staying current with coding guidelines. Travel is never or rarely required, with remote work from home as a primary setup.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED - Required.
• 4 years Coding - Required.
• Cardiology experience - Required.
• CCS or CCS-P or CPC - Required.
• RHIT/RHIA within 180 days - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and code patient records in hospitalist rounds and office visits.
• Analyze medical record content to assign ICD diagnosis codes and CPT procedures.
• Evaluate codes and modifiers for ED edits and NCIs.
• Meet coding accuracy and productivity standards.
• Stay current with coding changes through education.
