Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a COBOL Programmer with 8+ years of experience to support AMS Edit Book Update processes. The role is fully remote within the United States and requires the ability to obtain a USPS Public Trust clearance.

You will code, test, and research existing processes to meet project timelines. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, creating documentation, coordinating with SMEs and project managers, and ensuring scalable, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• If no degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain USPS Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with subject matter experts and gathers course material.
• Analyzes program requirements and determines strategic solutions.
• Converts materials and maintains alignment with objectives.
• Collaborates with project managers, SMEs, and multimedia specialists.
• Analyzes user/software system requirements and determines needs.
• Determines functionality and upgrades over time; maintains documentation.
• Develops specifications, data mappings, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers/testers.
• Translates technical specs into non-technical requirements; defines features with acceptance criteria.
