Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Civil Engineer with a coastal/maritime focus to join a fully remote team. You will design, analyze, and manage ports, harbors, breakwaters, offshore structures, and marine renewable energy projects from your home office.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering degree with coastal specialization and at least six years of relevant experience, plus proficiency in Delft3D or Mike 21 and structural analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Coastal or Maritime Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in coastal and maritime project design.
• Proficiency in specialized software for coastal modeling (e.g., Delft3D, Mike 21) and structural analysis.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, oceanography, and marine geotechnics.
• Excellent technical writing and remote communication skills.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structures for ports, harbors, breakwaters, seawalls, and other coastal infrastructure.
• Conduct studies related to wave mechanics, sediment transport, and coastal processes.
• Develop designs for offshore foundations and structures, considering marine environmental factors.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings for maritime projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant maritime codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
• Collaborate virtually with clients, marine biologists, naval architects, and other specialists.
