Job summary

AVB is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to own AVB's multi-account AWS environment, assist with security operations, and back up the security lead. The role involves patching, disaster recovery planning, and maintaining PCI DSS compliance while supporting AVB’s SaaS products for a distributed team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Linux/Windows server administration, scripting in Bash and Python, and strong knowledge of IAM, VPCs, and security tooling.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years deploying, securing, and operating production AWS environments.
• 2+ years security operations experience, including alert triage, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
• 3+ years administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Experience with PCI DSS or SOC 2, HIPAA, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, secure, document, and maintain AWS infrastructure across a multi-account org.
• Share ownership of production patching and manage maintenance windows.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage access across AWS IAM and Entra ID; fulfill access requests.
• Backup/restore planning and disaster recovery testing.
• Performance monitoring and capacity planning; RI reviews.
• Support SaaS production environments; diagnose bottlenecks with devs.
• Root-cause analysis for outages; implement preventive measures.
