Job summary

AvatarFleet seeks a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration and infrastructure operations, partnering with the CTO and engineering team in a remote, fast-paced environment. You’ll manage AWS services (EC2/ECS/WAF/ALB/S3/EFS), maintain patched Linux hosts, and drive CI/CD automation with Terraform and Ansible while ensuring uptime and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production.
• Strong AWS administration skills, including EC2, ECS, IAM, WAF, and load balancing.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and maintaining controls.
• Hands-on vulnerability management, patching, hardening, and incident response.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations.
• Deploy and manage AWS resources and production services.
• Administer Linux hosts and ensure patching, backups, and monitoring.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure deployments with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting.
• Investigate incidents, document root causes, and drive improvements.
• Coordinate SOC 2 Type II evidence collection and audit readiness.
