Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to design secure, scalable cloud architectures for NIH programs. You will lead architecture-to-delivery, leveraging AWS and Azure, Terraform, and DevOps practices to automate and integrate deployments.

The role requires collaborating with customers to translate requirements into engineering plans and ensuring secure, compliant solutions across compute, storage, and networking.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 8+ years of relevant IT experience or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on AWS and Azure experience across compute, storage, databases, networking, identity, security, monitoring and related cloud services.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions for applications and data with scalable, secure architectures.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform with modules and shared repositories.
• Experience with cloud networking, IAM, security, DevOps/CI/CD, automated deployment and monitoring.
• Ability to own technical solutions from requirements through implementation and transition to operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to gather requirements and translate them into cloud architectures and engineering plans.
• Design and implement AWS and Azure solutions for data hosting including specialized workloads.
• Engineer end-to-end cloud solutions covering compute, storage, databases, networking, IAM, security, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules and automation to provision custom solutions.
• Design and integrate DevOps/CI/CD capabilities for deployment, security scanning, and lifecycle management.
• Apply engineering judgment to evaluate tradeoffs, risks and long-term implications of designs.
• Lead delivery within an Agile Cloud DevOps team and coordinate with security, infra and app teams.
