Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a senior Systems Architect to design and guide enterprise and cloud architectures. The role focuses on DNS, Azure, and AWS, with on‑prem and cloud migrations, in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration.

The position requires a Top Secret/DOE access clearance and is on‑site in Denver, CO. You will lead architecture decisions, modernize environments, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with diverse IT teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science required.
• 15+ years of related experience.
• DNS architecture expertise.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Cloud migration experience to Azure/AWS.
• On-premises infrastructure knowledge (VDI, AVD, VMware, M365).
• Ability to clearly communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted solutions architecture expert.
• Identify and design solutions based on business and technical requirements; assess options and recommend optimal architectures.
• Research and evaluate current and emerging technologies and recommend adoption or refinement.
• Improve existing system and business process architectures for performance, security, and efficiency.
• Ensure architecture teams deliver scalable, secure cloud and on‑prem solutions.
• Develop and maintain service design procedures using established frameworks.
• Deliver technical presentations and briefings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Elicit and refine customer requirements and recommend products across software, platform, network, and cloud domains.
• Design, plan, and deploy DNS architectures with scalability and security in mind.
• Guide cloud migration initiatives to Azure and AWS; provide cost/schedule/risk updates.
• Mentor less‑experienced professionals; may lead a team or tasks.
