Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to support enterprise web applications and cloud-based infrastructure in Herndon, VA. You will perform OS level support, upgrades, monitoring, and automation to ensure reliable cloud operations and secure deployments.

The role requires strong Linux/Windows administration, deep cloud engineering expertise in AWS, and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and container orchestration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise web applications (Tomcat) and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC) and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Security clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support AWS environments (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC).
• Develop automation scripts and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab).
• Operate observability stacks (CloudWatch, ELK, AppDynamics) and analyze logs for RCA.
• Deploy and optimize Kubernetes workloads, Docker containers, and serverless functions.
