Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent with 6–8 years related experience and 3+ years AWS.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS across IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, SSM, CloudTrail.
• Experience authoring Terraform from scratch — modules, remote state, lifecycle management.
• 5+ years Windows Server 2019/2022/2025 with IIS and .NET workloads.
• Strong SQL Server and RDS for SQL Server experience; migrations and backups.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions or AWS CodeBuild; Git-based workflows.
• PowerShell and Python/Bash scripting proficiency.
• Observability practices with Datadog or CloudWatch.
• TLS/SSL management for IIS/Tomcat/Apache/nginx; AWS Certificate Manager.
• Clear communicator; NIH Public Trust clearance capability.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, harden, and troubleshoot Windows apps on Windows Server and IIS.
• Administer SQL Server databases and AWS RDS; migrations, tuning, backups.
• Define AWS infrastructure as code in Terraform; modules and remote state.
• Build deployment pipelines in GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild.
• Front apps with AWS load balancers and WAF; health checks and rules.
• Instrument dashboards, SLAs, and alerts; reduce noise.
• Migrate and modernize Windows apps to AWS; refactor architecture.
• Collaborate with app owners and developers to plan and implement projects.
• Automate routine ops into self-service capabilities; renew certificates, rotate credentials.
• Monitor health and respond to alerts; document processes.
• Present DevOps practices and new tech to team; occasional talks.
• After hours/weekend maintenance may be required.
