Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer (Azure) to architect and build cloud-native, API-driven solutions that securely move, transform, and orchestrate data across enterprise systems. You will work with product owners, architects, and Agile teams, designing APIs and implementing security with Azure AD.

A few roles may require in-person interviews; the position is remote for qualified US applicants, with a focus on Azure data services and API management.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience architecting and developing solutions on Microsoft Azure using Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related services.
• Strong API lifecycle management experience with Azure API Management, including API design (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger), versioning, security, analytics, monitoring, and deprecation.
• Proven API security experience implementing authentication/authorization with Azure Active Directory, plus custom API security policies, mTLS, and API throttling.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot for API development, along with GraphQL API development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL/Oracle/MongoDB), PL/SQL, CI/CD tooling (Git, GitHub Actions), and working in Agile/Scrum teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related services for data movement, transformation, and orchestration between systems.
• Own the full API lifecycle using Azure API Management, including API design, development, security, analytics, monitoring, and deprecation.
• Implement API security with Azure Active Directory, and build custom security policies, mTLS, and throttling.
• Develop APIs using GraphQL as well as Java, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitHub Actions in Agile/Scrum teams.
