Job summary

AvatarFleet seeks a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration, patching, and SOC 2 Type II readiness. The role also handles Linux systems administration, AWS infrastructure, and CI/CD support to ensure uptime and audit readiness.

You will work with the CTO and engineers in a fully remote US environment, ensuring controls, evidence, and remediation are timely and well-documented.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Strong AWS administration skills across EC2, ECS, IAM, networking, and storage.
• Practical experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and maintaining controls.
• Hands-on vulnerability management, patching, hardening, and incident response.
• Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, shell scripting, Docker, and Docker Compose.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting deployments with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 control execution with stakeholders.
• Manage vulnerability assessments, patching, and remediation tracking across Linux hosts and containers.
• Administer AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS) with secure configurations.
• Support CI/CD, deployment environments, and secure pipeline access.
• Maintain runbooks, evidence, backups, and audit-ready documentation.
