Job summary

AvatarFleet LLC is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own day-to-day security administration and infrastructure operations. You will work closely with the CTO and software engineering to maintain Linux hosts, AWS resources, and production reliability.

The role emphasizes SOC 2 Type II control execution, evidence collection, and audit preparation, with a fully remote arrangement for residents in allowed states. Strong scripting and CI/CD experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on Linux systems administration.
• Strong AWS administration skills, especially EC2 and Linux-hosted applications.
• Experience with SOC 2 Type II audits and maintaining controls across the audit period.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CLI, and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Administer AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS, IAM) and networking components.
• Maintain patched, secured, and monitored Linux hosts and production environments.
• Support CI/CD configurations, deployment environments, and secure pipeline access.
• Investigate incidents, restore services, and document root causes and mitigations.
• Collaborate with engineering on automation, configuration, and cost optimization.
