Job summary

Supabase is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join Engineering Operations. You’ll shape foundations that let teams build, ship, and operate infrastructure safely and independently across AWS and GCP.

This role spans cloud governance, platform engineering, and hands-on operations, including IAM, account organization, IaC, security primitives, networking, and cross-account visibility. You’ll work with distributed teams to turn ambiguous problems into pragmatic, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud governance, platform engineering, and/or operations.
• Experience migrating architectures and centralizing governance across cloud accounts.
• Experience with IaC and automation.
• Strong communication and async collaboration in distributed teams.
• Experience building internal platforms and self-service for engineers.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and iterating toward better systems.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including IAM, account structure, access controls, and guardrails.
• Build reusable infrastructure and blocks using IaC for safe, consistent provisioning.
• Create self-service capabilities to reduce friction for engineers.
• Own resource governance and visibility: tagging, inventory, and cross-account billing data.
• Develop reusable security primitives: secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, token vending, mTLS.
• Own cloud-level network and operational primitives: IP management, DNS, health signals and quotas.
• Combine software engineering with hands-on operations: build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot actions you own.
• Establish and share cloud engineering best practices via docs and tooling.
