Job summary

Supabase is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join Cloud Engineering within Engineering Operations. You’ll help shape cloud governance across AWS and GCP and build foundational platform primitives that let teams ship, operate, and scale infrastructure safely.

This role blends software engineering with hands-on operations: IAM and multi‑account governance, Infrastructure as Code, reusable building blocks, security primitives, and self‑service workflows for engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud governance/platform engineering/operations with production systems at scale and on-call experience.
• Significant migration or governance project (rearchitected AWS account topology, centralized IAM/SSO, or multi-cloud governance).
• Experience building internal platforms and self-service experiences for engineers.
• Comfortable treating infrastructure as software with IaC/automation and repeatable build/run patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including identity, account orgs, access controls, and guardrails.
• Build reusable infrastructure and platform primitives using IaC for safe, consistent provisioning.
• Create self-service capabilities to reduce friction for engineers within sensible boundaries.
• Own resource governance and visibility: tagging, inventory ownership, and cross-account billing data.
• Develop reusable security primitives: secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, service authentication, mTLS, and related services.
• Own cloud-level network and operational primitives: IP management, DNS, health signals, quotas, and alerts.
• Combine software engineering with hands-on operations: build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve what you own.
• Establish and share cloud engineering best practices through documentation, tooling, and enablement.
