Job summary

Supabase is seeking a FinOps Engineer to drive cloud cost optimization across AWS and GCP in a hands-on role. You will analyze billing data, implement rightsizing, and build automated cost governance with code (Python, Terraform, Lambda).

You will partner with Engineering and Finance to embed cost awareness in design decisions and reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep cloud cost experience, scripting skills, and the ability to explain savings to technical and leadership audiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on FinOps or cloud cost management experience.
• Experience analyzing cloud billing data and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to communicate savings cases to engineers, finance, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP by analyzing billing, usage and cost trends.
• Build and maintain cost attribution, tagging policies, and chargeback/showback mechanisms.
• Automate cost governance with reporting, anomaly detection, and IaC scripts (Python, Terraform, Lambda).
• Partner with engineering on architecture decisions to bake cost efficiency into design.
• Support forecasting and reporting with dashboards accessible to engineering and finance.
