Job summary

PlanSource, a leading cloud-based benefits administration provider, is seeking a Database Engineer to ensure reliability, performance, and security of our database platforms. You will own lifecycle management across MySQL/Aurora/RDS environments and collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams.

You will develop dashboards, optimize queries, support disaster recovery, and contribute to cloud modernization and automation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience administering production MySQL-compatible database environments of customer-facing or business-critical apps.
Strong SQL tuning, query optimization, indexing, and performance troubleshooting skills.
Experience with backup, restore, replication, and high-availability database practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain database dashboards, alerts, performance baselines, and operational metrics.
Support reliability and availability of MySQL, Aurora, and RDS environments.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance across environments.
Triage database issues across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers.
