Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a hands‑on Database Engineer to own the database infrastructure and optimize enterprise‑scale systems across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will tune queries, implement HA configurations, and collaborate with developers to design efficient schemas and secure data workloads.

Ideal candidates have 10–12+ years in DB administration, strong MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL skills, and experience with cloud migrations, automation, and performance tuning in a mature enterprise

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Strong expertise in MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL administration
• Proven experience with database performance tuning and query optimization
• Hands‑on experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high availability
• Strong understanding of database security, auditing, and compliance best practices
• Experience with cloud database migration strategies and performance tuning across major cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases on cloud or on‑prem
• Perform installations, patching, upgrades, and configure high‑availability deployments
• Tune SQL queries and stored procedures for optimal performance with indexing/partitioning
• Collaborate with developers to design optimized database schemas
• Conduct execution plan analysis and implement query optimizations
• Implement security frameworks including encryption and access controls
