Coupa Software seeks a Lead Database Reliability Engineer to design and operate cloud-based MySQL environments, delivering resilient and high-performance data platforms. You will drive AI-assisted tuning, forecasting, and automation while guiding on-call rotations and cross-team collaboration.

Required are 8+ years of DB experience, strong MySQL expertise, and cloud automation skills with AWS, RDS/Aurora; PostgreSQL/MongoDB and configuration tooling are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Science, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on database administration, management, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead database architecture and design for scalable, high-performance, reliable data platforms.
• Apply AI/ML to improve database operations: performance tuning, capacity forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, automation.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities; ensure data health and high availability.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide technical leadership; participate in on-call rotations.
• Conduct regular audits, governance reviews, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate across teams, mentor junior engineers, and support global teams across time zones.
