Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Remote Coding Education Lead for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Individualized Clinician Services. You will deliver proactive education on CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and risk adjustment, guiding onboarding for physicians and APPs, and ensuring accurate documentation from day one.

You will audit clinician records, resolve complex coding issues, monitor Epic queues, and collaborate across departments to improve documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Experience with Epic and reporting tools to optimize workflow.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proactive coding education through newsletters, scorecards, and presentations covering CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, Risk Adjustment, payer requirements, and rejection resolutions.
• Lead onboarding and compliance training for physicians/APPs, ensuring documentation accuracy from the start.
• Provide individualized documentation feedback by reviewing clinician records and conducting spot checks.
• Serve as primary coding inquiries contact, coordinating with internal teams to resolve complex issues like NCCI bundling.
• Monitor Epic work queues to ensure timely charge submissions and reduce denials.
• Collaborate across CMOs, Clinical Informatics, Risk Adjustment, and Population Health to enhance documentation practices.
• Participate in specialty and department meetings, identifying trends and delivering targeted education.
• Refine Epic documentation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
