Job summary

Merck is seeking a Remote Clinical Research Manager to oversee end-to-end management of assigned protocols across a country, ensuring compliance with ICH GCP, regulatory standards, and internal policies. The role leads study teams, manages timelines and risks, and coordinates with QA, PV, Regulatory, and GMA functions.

You will collaborate with CROs and investigators, support budget discussions, and sign off on contracts as delegated, contributing to high-quality clinical trials from feasibility

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in clinical research.
• Bachelor’s degree in science (or comparable).
• Advanced degree, (e.g., Master degree, MD, PhD) preferred.
• CRA experience and Oncology experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Main POC for assigned protocols and links between Country Operations and clinical trial team (CTT).
• Responsible for project management of the assigned studies: plans, drives, and tracks execution to meet country commitments from feasibility to closeout.
• Accountable for performance for assigned protocols in a country in compliance with ICH/GCP and country regulations, policies, quality standards, and adverse event reporting requirements.
• Reviews Monitoring Visit Reports and escalates issues to CRA manager or vendor as needed.
• Performs Quality control visits as required.
• Leads local study teams to high performance, trains local roles, and coordinates activities across country roles.
• Creates and executes a local risk management plan for assigned studies.
• Ensures compliance with CTMS, eTMF, and other key systems in studies.
• Escalates challenges to TA Head/CRD/CTT as appropriate.
• Collaborates with outsourcing vendors, investigators, and external partners.
• Country POC for outsourced trials; represents local business needs and may sign contracts and manage budgets.
• Collaborates with HQ and PV, Regulatory, GMA to align on decisions; consults Human Health as needed.
• As a customer-facing role, builds relationships with investigators.
• Shares protocol-specific information and best practices across countries.
