Job summary

Truveta is building a world-class data platform to enable researchers and clinicians to leverage high-quality standardized data for insights. The Clinical Terminologist will help normalize data from multiple health systems by mapping terms to SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and LOINC, and expanding terminology coverage.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, PM, and data science teams, with a focus on data quality and governance.

Qualifications

• Education in Medicine or related fields (Nursing, Pharmacy, Clinical laboratory science, Medical Informatics, Medical Research, medical coding, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in the field.
• 1+ year of practical application in clinical terminologies: SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC
• Certifications such as CPC, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA, COC, CIC, CCS-P
• Understanding of Electronic Medical Records and medical charts, medication lists, lab reports, SOAP notes
• Understanding of vast medical terms and abbreviations
• Ability to provide subject matter expertise in data management areas
• Effective communication and project management with minimal supervision
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, PM, modeling teams
• Develop and maintain project documentation and data quality checks
• Comprehension of guidelines to maintain data standards
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word

Responsibilities

• Standardize data sourced from different health systems.
• Identify, create, or validate mappings between medical terms and standardized terminologies.
• Extend terminologies to improve data pipelines and clinical research capabilities.
