Job summary

Truveta is building a health data platform aimed at enabling researchers and clinicians to improve patient care. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Terminologist to standardize data across health systems, validating mappings between medical terms and standardized terminologies and extending them as needed.

The role requires experience with clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC), EMR familiarity, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid U.S.

Qualifications

• Education in Medicine or related fields (Nursing, Pharmacy, Clinical laboratory science, Medical Informatics, Medical Research, medical coding, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in the field.
• 1+ year of practical application in clinical terminologies: SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC
• Certifications such as CPC, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA, COC, CIC, CCS-P preferred
• Understanding of Electronic Medical Records and medical terminology
• Ability to provide subject matter expertise in data management
• Effective communication and project management with minimal supervision
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, PM, and modeling teams
• Develop and maintain project documentation
• Perform data checks to ensure quality
• Knowledge of data standards guidelines

Responsibilities

• Identify, create, or validate mappings between medical terms from various systems to standardized terminologies and extend them
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of terminology mappings across data pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering and clinical teams to improve data normalization processes
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of terminology mappings and standards
• Support data quality checks and validation activities
• Participate in process improvements for data management and terminology governance
