Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Clinical Services Project Manager I to oversee low- to medium-complexity clinical testing and lab services projects. This fully remote contract role requires coordinating timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams, while ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity.

You will act as the main contact for pharmaceutical clients, CROs, and site investigators, driving milestones and reporting progress to stakeholders in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management and/or clinical trial management experience in a regulated environment such as a CRO, diagnostic, or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical or lab services projects with defined timelines, budgets, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues, propose solutions, and drive resolution.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams and maintain accountability for project deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, CROs, site investigators, and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with clinical trials processes, including quality and regulatory requirements and sample process flow.
  • Proficiency in standard office software, including word processing, spreadsheets (such as Excel), and email tools.
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance within clinical trial, diagnostic, or pharmaceutical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple low- to medium-complexity clinical testing and laboratory services projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with agreed project plans.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor detailed project timelines, tracking cross-functional activities and dependencies to ensure smooth execution across clinical and lab teams.
  • Identify potential project bottlenecks and risks early, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Serve as the primary single point of contact for external stakeholders, including pharmaceutical customers, CROs, and site investigators, providing clear, timely, and professional communication.
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day sample process flow, ensuring proper handling, routing, and tracking of biospecimens throughout the clinical and laboratory lifecycle.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of clinical and lab results, maintaining high standards of data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Track, compile, and communicate project status reports and clinical study data to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage and organize project-related meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and following up on action items to drive accountability and progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the clinical sciences team and other cross-functional partners to support continuous improvement of processes, workflows, and project delivery practices.
  • Apply knowledge of clinical trials, regulatory and quality processes, and sample process flow to ensure projects adhere to relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Utilize standard office software tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email, to document, track, and communicate project information effectively.
  • Work effectively under time pressure, managing competing priorities and multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
