Job summary

OpenLoop is seeking a Clinical Informaticist to join our remote Clinical & Informatics team. You will serve as the clinical SME for product and project teams, developing and maintaining clinical data assets that power decision support and drive clinical workflows across our platform.

The role requires translating clinical requirements into data specifications, validating features, and collaborating with engineering and product leadership to ensure safe, interoperable data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted clinical license required.
• Board certification in Clinical Informatics preferred.
• 5+ years of clinical practice experience.
• 5+ years in hands-on clinical informatics work (data development, analysis, maintenance).
• Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and multiple EHR systems.
• Proficiency with SQL/PL/SQL and data modeling.
• FHIR knowledge and experience with FHIR resources/paths.
• Excellent communication translating clinical and technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the clinical SME for product and project teams, guiding workflows and clinical data best practices.
• Design, build, test, and update clinical data assets powering decision support and workflows.
• Translate clinical requirements into data specs and validate delivered features.
• Analyze clinical data to identify gaps and improve decision support logic.
• Review technical specs for clinical applications and provide SME input to PMs.
• Maintain mappings to standardized vocabularies for interoperability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data-driven features are safe and meaningful.
• Support guideline development, content governance, and quality improvements.
• Identify workflow improvements with Clinical Training/Education teams.
