LiveKit is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on real-time audio, video, and AI applications built on the LiveKit platform. The role blends engineering, architecture, and customer implementation, partnering with customers to design systems, prototype solutions, and tackle complex technical challenges as teams move from experimentation to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in backend or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience with APIs, distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to debug production issues in customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Design real-time applications with customer engineering teams remotely or on-site.
• Architect scalable voice AI and real-time media solutions.
• Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample apps to accelerate customer development.
• Guide customers through SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies.
• Debug production issues in live environments.
• Lead architecture sessions with developers and product teams.
• Translate customer needs into technical insights for product and platform development.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve developer experience, documentation, and tooling.
• Contribute code or improvements to LiveKit’s open-source ecosystem when helpful.
• Act as a trusted advisor helping customers launch and scale applications on LiveKit.
