Job summary

LiveKit is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers building real-time audio, video, and AI apps on the LiveKit platform. You will design architectures, implement integrations, and guide deployment strategies with clients in Spanish or English.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve developer experience, contribute reference implementations, and help scale customer solutions in production environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Node, Rust or C++.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time applications built on LiveKit with customer teams.
• Design scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform use cases.
• Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample apps to accelerate customer development.
• Assist customers with SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions with developers and product teams.
• Translate customer needs into technical insights for product and platform development.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve developer experience and tooling.
• Contribute to LiveKit's open-source ecosystem when helpful.
• Act as a trusted advisor helping customers launch and scale applications on LiveKit.
