Job summary

LiveKit is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customer engineering teams, designing real-time audio, video, and AI solutions on the LiveKit platform, remotely or on-site as needed.

You will translate customer requirements into architectures, prototypes, and reference implementations, collaborating with Product and Engineering to scale deployments and improve developer experiences for Spanish- and English-speaking teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customer engineering teams to design and implement real-time applications built on LiveKit.
• Design scalable architectures for voice AI and real-time media.
• Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample apps to accelerate customer development.
• Help customers navigate SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for production systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Lead architecture sessions with developers and product teams.
• Translate customer needs into technical insights to inform product development.
• Contribute to LiveKit open-source ecosystem when helpful.
• Act as a trusted advisor to help customers launch and scale applications.
