Job summary

Burkland is seeking a Division Manager for Client Accounting to run a self-contained unit within the firm. You will own the division's P&L, staffing, and KPI outcomes, guiding a team of Accounting Associates and Client Accounting Advisors to deliver high-quality accounting and proactive advisory work for startups.

You will lead hiring, staff development, and manage client relationships, ensuring timely GAAP statements, inventory analysis, and cost accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA or CMA credential preferred.
• Strong project management and client-relations skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and cost accounting background.
• Experience with ERP implementations and inventory systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Cin7, Fishbowl).

Responsibilities

• Own the division’s P&L, including revenue, margin, and utilization targets.
• Lead hiring, development, and performance reviews for the division team.
• Oversee inventory valuation, costing methods, GAAP reporting, and client profitability analysis.
• Manage client relationships and act as escalation point for issues.
• Drive growth of the division’s book of business and ensure proactive advisory services.
