Job summary

Colorado Department of State Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Division seeks staff to process owner claims under RUUPA, review documents, and request needed information. You will interact with claimants by phone and email, ensure accurate determinations, and maintain detailed case files.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience reviewing documentation for eligibility and providing customer service or processing claims.
• Part-time experience will be pro-rated and must be verifiable in your application.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze owner claims to determine eligibility and consistency with RUUPA procedures.
• Request additional information from claimants or holders as needed to complete determinations.
• Investigate ownership ties using documents and external sources.
• Maintain claim files and final dispositions with detailed analyses.
• Answer hotline/e-mail inquiries and guide claimants through the process.
• Represent the Division of Unclaimed Property at outreach events and assist with on-site claims.
