Job summary

TDIC is seeking a Claims Representative II, Professional Liability for a remote-first environment with occasional travel and in-office meetings. You will investigate liability claims, manage reserves, negotiate resolutions, and coordinate with policyholders, defense attorneys and vendors to ensure timely, fair outcomes.

The role requires three years of liability claims experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Windows Office and database systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of insurance experience in a liability claims or similar position.
• Requires intensive communication with involved parties via phone.
• Must be able to perform job duties under supervision.
• Proficient with MS Windows Office; experience with AS400 or similar database management system.
• Regular auto/air travel required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with courses in insurance preferred.
• Commercial property insurance and in-person negotiation experience preferred.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine cause and origin of loss and liability; supervise outside adjusters, legal counsel and other vendors.
• Work with the claims supervisor to establish case values and reserves.
• Manage litigation course including defense strategies and budgets per TDIC guidelines.
• Attend meetings with policyholders, defense attorneys and consultants.
• Negotiate claim resolutions under supervision; assist with subrogation efforts.
• Maintain assigned caseloads with diary entries and timely communications.
• Review vendor bills, challenge items when appropriate, and approve payments with supervisor guidance.
• Review new claims with supervisor to determine course of action.
