Job summary

LMI Government Consulting is seeking a Civil/Structural engineer to support US Customs and Border Protection on capital projects and facility life cycle planning. The role includes reviewing designs, providing engineering input, and coordinating with partners across HQ and field offices to ensure timely delivery of critical border infrastructure.

The candidate should have 4+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE license preferred, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license preferred; PMP certification a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and SharePoint.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering designs, installations, and existing systems and provide recommendations.
• Assist with planning, design review and construction oversight of IST projects.
• Support development of SOWs and cost estimates; review with stakeholders.
• Interact with IST Portfolio staff, USBP, OFO, AMO, and consultants.
• Act as program expert to present and defend engineering issues to CBP and DHS officials.
• Maintain a high-paced book of work and report status regularly.
