Job summary

LMI Government Consulting is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support CBP capital projects along the U.S. borders. You will review designs, perform design oversight, and provide engineering input across planning, design, construction, and maintenance phases.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Applicants should be prepared for ~20% travel and potential security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license or EIT preferred.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering designs, proposed installations, and in-place systems; provide recommendations.
• Assist planning, design review and construction oversight of IST's projects.
• Develop and prepare SOWs and cost estimates; review inputs from stakeholders.
• Interact with IST Portfolio staff, USBP, OFO, AMO and other consultants/contractors.
• Present and defend technical issues to CBP, DHS, and other agencies.
• Maintain a high-paced list of engineering assignments and report status.
• Prepare and deliver reports, briefs, and communications on outcomes.
