Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced civil defense attorney for a fully remote role serving clients in Connecticut. The attorney will handle civil litigation defense matters, draft pleadings and motions, take and defend depositions, and appear remotely or in person as needed across a remote-capable team.

Candidates should have 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience, a Connecticut Bar admission (or be waiveable in), and strong written/oral advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
• Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable litigation work.
• Strong experience with deposition practice, discovery, and motion work.
• Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trial preparation strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote setting.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as required).
• Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across a remote environment.
