Job summary

Jobot is seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our fully remote team. This role emphasizes independent case management while staying connected to a collaborative group of litigators.

Our practice focuses on general civil defense matters with ongoing case flow and opportunities for hands-on litigation work. We value trial experience or exposure to advanced stages of litigation, and require active CT Bar admission (or waiver).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
• Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable work.
• Strong deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience.
• Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trials preferred.
• Ability to manage a full caseload remotely.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person).
• Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff in a remote environment.
