Job summary

ERM seeks a Consultant, Civil Engineer to join our Washington, DC office. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to plan, design, permit, and implement civil projects for renewable energy and power sectors.

In this hybrid/remote capable position, you will deliver technical designs, support regulatory processes, and engage in client relationships to grow our North American engineering practice. PE eligibility, design experience, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with site civil emphasis.
• PE licensure eligible or professional engineer license in place.
• 2–3 years of site civil design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design site civil works including earthwork, grading, roads, and stormwater.
• Prepare permit applications and land disturbance packages.
• Analyze field data, calculations, reports, and schedules.
• Oversee field investigations, QA/QC, and construction support.
• Contribute to proposals and business development with clients.
• Define project scopes, schedules, and budgets for facilities.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and travel as needed.
