AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer Energy for a remote role, based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office. You will design and oversee infrastructure projects, collaborating with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years of experience, and familiarity with ASME/ACI/ASCE/AISC standards, along with FEA knowledge and nuclear industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Nuclear industry experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of FEA and civil design software.
• Familiarity with ASME, ACI, ASCE, AISC standards.
• Experience in seismic and impact-based dynamic analyses.
• Knowledge of geotechnical and geophysical engineering.
• Experience in modular design development of SSCs.
• Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and oversee the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
• Interface with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams for structural design and layouts.
• Perform engineering calculations using traditional methods or FEA to document code compliance.
• Develop layout plans, foundation details, steelwork details and architectural feature design.
• Assist in the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications.
• Assist in routine development and implementation of engineering analysis to resolve problems.
• Ensure compliance with national codes and standards relevant to CS&A engineering.
• Work in multi-discipline teams to ensure design integration across disciplines.
• Check design media for accuracy and adherence to procedures.
• Support installation and testing of site systems and components.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
