Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an Automation Engineer for the Engineering Systems team to scale our build, test, signing, and deployment pipelines to the cloud and customers. You will own code signing across Windows, Linux, and Mac, manage certificates, and design automation frameworks that improve reliability and scalability.

You will write maintainable code, review others’ work, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with global teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or Green Card.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts related to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Salt.
• Experience automating virtualization environments (VMware).
• Familiarity with public cloud APIs (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with build/release engineering and SDLC.
• Ability to work collaboratively across time zones.
• Meticulous attention to detail and good decision-making.
• Self-learning and initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Security mindset; AI experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries across Windows, Linux, and Mac (Azure Artifact, code signing).
• Manage certificate lifecycles including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
• Design and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks and tooling.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to delivery for internal customers.
• Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide documentation for users of the tools created.
• Perform code reviews.
• On-call build engineer functions: plan changes, troubleshoot, maintain services.
• Troubleshoot build/deploy failures across pipelines.
• Serve on an on-call rotation.
• Work productively as a remote employee.
