Job summary

Column is seeking a detail-oriented Check Reconciliation Specialist to join the Finance Operations team. This fully remote, US-based role offers an entry-level path with exposure to accounts receivable and payments support.

You will align Chase lockbox payments with Stripe invoices and collaborate with the Support team on complex payment issues. You will learn Column's billing systems, shadow current workflows, and progressively own full lockbox-to-Stripe reconciliation by day 90, while aiming

Qualifications

• Experience with accounts receivable or payments workflows is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail to catch discrepancies in payments and invoices.
• Ability to document and communicate payment issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Process and match incoming check payments from the Chase lockbox against Stripe invoices.
• Reconcile daily lockbox deposits and payment batches to ensure accurate application.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies (short/overpayments, misapplied funds).
• Identify refunds or credits for incorrect amounts.
• Improve processes around incorrect check payments to reduce manual rework.
