Job summary

Optum is hiring a Healthcare Revenue Cycle and Chargemaster Analyst to oversee chargemaster and charge capture processes, analyze coding and billing guidelines, and collaborate with Finance and Compliance. This remote role supports the U.S. health system and may require in-office presence for some locations.

The position emphasizes improving reimbursement, speeding up cash flow, and ensuring fiscal compliance while leveraging Epic software and CPT/HCPCS expertise. Telecommuter policy applies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in billing, charging, Charge Master, coding or health care revenue cycle.
• 2+ years of experience with CPT/HCPCS, UB-92 Revenue Coding, modifiers, billing regulations, and APCs.
• 2+ years of experience working with Epic Software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise chargemaster and charge capture processes; research coding and billing guidelines.
• Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., EPIC) as needed.
• Improve reimbursement, cash flow, and fiscal compliance across the organization.
• Ensure chargemaster and charge capture descriptions, coding, pricing, and revenue codes are accurate.
• Maintain knowledge of revenue cycle processes to support regulatory compliance and cash collection.
• Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Integrity, and Decision Support on budget and net revenue analyses.
• Identify trends, validate compliance, and reduce bad debt and charity write-offs.
• Communicate CMS updates to providers and implement changes accordingly.
• Oversee maintenance and use of the chargemaster tool for Revenue Integrity.
• Suggest policies to improve charge capture and pricing.
