Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Charge Specialist for its Revenue Integrity team. This fully remote role focuses on accurate charge capture across acute care, perioperative, and outpatient units.

The position requires reviewing records, applying HCPCS codes, and ensuring compliant billing for insurers and other payors. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in charge capture, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of coding principles.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of charge capture experience.
• XLS experience including filters, formulas and importing data.
• Understanding of general coding principles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to work remotely in the listed states.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient records, dictated notes and provider notes to assign proper procedure codes using HCPCS.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in clinical documentation and shares findings with Revenue Integrity staff.
• Collaborates with other charging/coding staff to maintain consistency across the system.
• Participates as a system team member to provide services and achieve department goals.
• Works independently under supervision to ensure accurate and timely billing.
