Job summary

Equiti seeks qualified Chaldean Video Medical Interpreters to work remotely from anywhere in the United States. You will facilitate accurate, culturally competent communication between healthcare providers and LEP patients using video remote interpretation (VRI) tools.

You will maintain HIPAA compliance, adjust language registers, and support hospitals and clinics nationwide with both medical and educational context.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of remote medical interpreting experience.
• 40+ hours of interpreter training (e.g., Bridging the Gap or equivalent).
• Medical interpretation certification preferred.
• Documented fluency in English and at least one other language.
• HIPAA compliance and ethics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Interpret accurately between source and target language for hospitals and clinics nationwide.
• Adjust register to ensure full comprehension by LEP patients.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and professional standards.
• Provide cultural brokerage when needed to clarify nuances.
• Demonstrate camera awareness during VRI sessions and maintain professional presence.
• Stay current with required certifications and professional development.
