Job summary

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an Accounting Advisory Manager to join our national CFO Advisory practice. The role offers hybrid or remote work with travel as needed to support client engagements and team collaboration.

You will lead client engagements, supervise project teams, and advise on ASC 480/606/718 and SEC reporting, while mentoring staff and expanding engagement scope with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting environments.
• Experience supporting SEC registrants, public companies, and/or private equity-backed organizations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to research complex issues.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, or SEC reporting processes.
• Proven project management skills and ability to lead engagements from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple client engagements, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor.
• Support and optimize financial close processes, improving efficiency and reporting timelines.
• Assist with accounting transformation initiatives (cash-to-accrual, opening balance sheet, purchase accounting).
• Guide organizations through audit readiness and interactions with external auditors.
• Lead technical accounting projects involving ASC 480, 606, 718, 805, 815, and 842.
• Advise on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting matters, including disclosures.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnote disclosures, memos, reconciliations, and SEC filings (Forms 10-Q/10-K).
• Mentor team members and collaborate to grow a high-performing culture.
• Partner with senior leadership to expand engagement scope and improve client service.
