Job summary

AECOM is seeking a hands-on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to join its Data Center team within the Buildings and Places (B+P) group. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• 6+ years hands-on CFD experience in data centers or similar facilities.
• Proficiency with CFD platforms (Cadence 6SigmaDCX, Ansys Fluent/CFX, OpenFOAM).
• Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, turbulence modeling, HVAC operation.

Responsibilities

• Own the full CFD study lifecycle from scoping to reporting.
• Model and analyze data hall and containment configurations.
• Perform external and internal studies for cooling components and exhausts.
• Conduct steady-state and transient analyses for outages and changes.
• Develop defensible modeling assumptions from design data and measurements.
• Prepare client-ready reports and visualizations; present findings to teams.
