AECOM is seeking a hands-on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to join its Data Center team within the Buildings and Places group. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel, and involves conducting internal and external airflow, thermal, and equipment-discharge studies across multiple projects for global clients.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 6+ years of hands-on CFD experience, including data centers or similar thermal-management environments.
• Proficiency with at least one CFD platform such as Cadence 6SigmaDCX, ANSYS Fluent/CFX, or OpenFOAM.
• Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, turbulence modeling, and HVAC operation.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full CFD study lifecycle: define scope, develop methodology, build geometry, generate the mesh, set boundary conditions, solve, verify convergence, and report results.
• Perform internal data hall studies addressing rack inlet temperatures and airflow distribution.
• Perform external studies for cooling towers, chillers, and exhaust.
• Conduct steady-state and transient analyses for outages, failures, and load changes.
• Develop defensible modeling assumptions using design data and field measurements.
• Prepare concise, client-ready reports and visualizations communicating results and next steps.
