AECOM is seeking a hands-on CFD Engineer to join its Data Center team in the Buildings and Places group in Arlington, VA; this position can be fully remote. This individual-contributor role executes airflow, thermal and equipment-discharge studies with minimal oversight and translates results into actionable design recommendations.

The successful candidate will develop repeatable CFD workflows, communicate assumptions clearly, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 6+ years hands-on CFD experience, preferably in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Proficiency with CFD platforms such as Cadence 6SigmaDCX, Ansys Fluent/CFX, or OpenFOAM.
• Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, turbulence modeling, HVAC operation.
• Experience modeling internal and external environments and understanding data center cooling architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full CFD study lifecycle from scope to report.
• Perform internal data hall studies and external tower/exposure analyses.
• Conduct steady-state and transient CFD analyses for outages and faults.
• Develop defensible modeling assumptions from design data and measurements.
• Apply verification/validation practices and compare with hand calculations or data.
• Prepare client-ready reports and visuals and present findings.
