Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a CFD-focused professional to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will convert CAD geometry into simulations, run setups, and develop verified reference solutions with Python-based checks.

Required are a mechanical/aerospace engineering background, several years of CFD experience (OpenFOAM/ANSYS/STAR-CCM+), and Python/GitHub proficiency. Remote freelance hours are 10–20 weekly, with up to $69/hour based on pace and expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field; PhD preferred.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+ including meshing.
• Solid verification/validation: mesh-independence studies and benchmark validation.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub; English at B2 level or above.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level CFD tasks.
• Take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build reference solutions.
• Write Python checks for the agent's results; ensure verification/validation.
• Collaborate with cross-project teams on simulation methodologies.
