Job summary

Prime Therapeutics is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a 12-month contract with potential extension in a call center environment. You will evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers via phone and fax, using client criteria.

Must have retail experience; call center experience is a plus. Remote work option available with weekends required and 40 hours per week, overtime may be required. Must have hard-wired internet.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in a pharmacy or retail setting.
• Call Center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determines appropriateness for medications and communicates decisions to physicians and staff.
• Documents prior authorization outcomes in the pharmacy system.
• Explains prior authorization criteria, coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians and staff.
• Escalates complex requests to Pharmacist for review or denial.
• Responds to physician or client inquiries and informs management.
• For fax queue CPTs, reviews coverage determinations and communicates within SLA.
• Multitasks across queues and adapts to changing workflow.
