Akkodis is seeking a CDN Platform Engineer for one of our clients in Dearborn, Michigan. The role focuses on the design, implementation, optimization, and operational reliability of enterprise CDN platforms supporting large-scale, customer-facing digital applications.

The position offers hybrid work with some in-office time and may consider fully remote candidates. You will lead platform modernization, automation, and security controls across a global CDN environment while mentoring engineers

Qualifications

5+ years managing enterprise CDN platforms including Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, or Google Cloud CDN.
Strong expertise in Multi-CDN strategy, implementation, and operational management.
Deep understanding of DNS, GTM, CNAME chaining, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS/SSL, caching policies, edge computing, and web performance.
Experience IaC with Terraform and Ansible in production environments.
Strong programming and automation skills in Python, Java, and scripting languages.
Experience building self-service platform capabilities with Backstage, REST APIs, and modern web technologies including React.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and GitOps using Tekton, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
Experience implementing API management and security using Apigee and OpenAPI standards.
Expertise in monitoring/observability platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana.
Proven incident leadership and RCA capabilities in large-scale production environments.
Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for enterprise CDN technologies across teams to design scalable content delivery solutions.
Lead the migration from legacy platforms to a modern Multi-CDN ecosystem.
Design and maintain CDN environments across Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly, Google CDN, and GCP.
Build self-service capabilities for provisioning CDN services via internal portals and APIs.
Develop IaC solutions to automate CDN provisioning, origins, caching, and security rules.
Build GitOps CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and consistency.
Publish and secure management APIs with Apigee and OpenAPI standards.
Lead RCA for production incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
Maintain reliability with proactive monitoring, incident prevention, and CDNspecific SLAs/SLOs.
Design observability with Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana for real-time visibility.
Evaluate new CDN tech and edge computing to improve scalability and security.
Create documentation, runbooks, and training materials; mentor engineers.
