Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDIS) to analyze health records using ICD-10, CPT, and DRG logic. This 100% remote role requires strong education in nursing or HIM coding and certification as CCDS or CDIP.

You will educate providers and collaborate with care teams to optimize documentation. The position emphasizes improving documentation accuracy, communicating with physicians, and maintaining confidentiality while working virtually for a multi-state

Qualifications

• RN with 3+ years in acute care (ICU/CC/Surgery).
• HIM professionals: 2+ years inpatient coding experience.
• RN/HIM: 2+ years in clinical documentation integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and coders to assign MS-DRGs/APR-DRGs for identified cases.
• Conducts concurrent reviews and documents findings in the 3M CDIS system.
• Identifies need to clarify documentation and communicates with clinicians.
• Supports documentation to reflect severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Develops query reports and provides in-services to staff.
