Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• 5+ years acute care hospital RN experience or CDI experience.
• Advanced proficiency in clinical medicine, pathophysiology, pharmacology.
• Advanced proficiency communicating with Physicians.
• Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR).

Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent and retrospective chart reviews to improve clinical documentation.
• Stay updated on Medicare rules and CDI trends.
• Use ICD-10 materials to investigate coding issues and produce accurate results.
• Follow up with providers for documentation specificity.
• Lead improvements in clinical documentation with rational recommendations.
• Communicate with providers to clarify documentation requirements.
• Ensure use of Optum CDI 3D Technology and forms.
• Collaborate with HIM Coding Professionals and Physician Advisors as needed.
